Joanne V. Luebchow, 84 of Buckley, passed away at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2018, at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main Street, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
Joanne was born October 15, 1934 at home in Ash Grove Twp. the daughter of William and Eliza Ehlers Kregel. She married Harold G. Luebchow January 22, 1956 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Woodworth. He preceded her in death October 20, 2013.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Donnelly of Piper City, Kaye (David) Schmidt of rural Thawville; two sons, Kent (Amy) Luebchow of Buckley, Kevin Luebchow of St. Joseph; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Viola Lucht of Normal, a brother, Dennis (Janice) Kregel of Cissna Park and a sister-in-law, Judith (John) Goldenstein of Onarga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Alan Kregel.
Joanne graduated from Cissna Park High School. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, the St. John's Ladies Aid and sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Buckley Home Extension.
Joanne and Harold spent winters in Harlingen, TX from 1992-2009. She enjoyed baking, square dancing and ceramics. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Joanne always enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in sports activities.
Memorials may be made to St. Johns' Lutheran Church or an organization of the donor's choice. Condolences may be offered at www.baierfuneralservices.com.
