John Earl Morris, 72, of Gibson City died at 1:48 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Morris was born April 10, 1952 in Paxton the son of the late Wayne and Frances O'Neal Morris. He served in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman and worked for Baltimore Aircoil, Paxton for 15 years and the University of Illinois for many years as a building service worker until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosemary Bailey (White) and Barbara Sailer, and brother Wayne Edward Morris.

He is survived by his son, Patrick (Ashley) Morris of Gibson City; two daughters, Carrie (Mark) Dale of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Rachel Morris of Champaign; seven grandchildren, Brandon Dale, Brianna Dale, Brian Dale, Brooklyn Dale, Jack Willoby, Halle Willoby, Irelynn Morris; and two siblings, Toni Molck of Paxton and Wes Morris of Starke, Florida.

John had a love for NASCAR racing, the Kansas City Chiefs, his cats and time with his family.
