Joseph Alexander "Joey" Hoopingarner, 18 of Paxton passed away at 11:38 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Gibson Area Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton. Burial will follow in Elliott Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12-2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, at the funeral home.

Joseph was born March 10, 2003 in Urbana, Illinois the son of Ernest and Kimberly Burton Hoopingarner Ⅲ.

He is survived by his parents, 5 brothers, Zack Hoopingarner of Albany, Oregon, Luke Hoopingarner of Paxton, Matt Hoopingarner of Paxton, Johnny Hoopingarner of Rantoul and Marcus Hoopingarner of Rantoul; sister Samantha Hoopingarner of Rantoul; maternal grandmother, Carolyn Burton of Paxton; paternal grandfather, Ernie (Sherri) Hoopingarner of Buckley; paternal grandmother, Kay Jones of Hoopeston; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Burton.

Joey was a junior at Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School. He enjoyed playing video games especially Pokémon. He was an animal lover, liked camping and going for walks.
