Joseph L. "Joe" Thilmony, 80, of Urbana passed away April 7, 2017, at the Laredo Medical Center, Laredo, Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda with Father Scaria Thoppil officiating. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Joe was born June 14, 1936 in Loda the son of Michael and Gladys Hubler Thilmony. He married Gladys Harold on November 2, 1957 in Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Gladys, he is survived by one son, Carl Thilmony of Bondville. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Thilmony.

Joe attended Loda High School. He had worked for Snap-on-Tools and retired after 30 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paxton and a former member of the Champaign-Urbana Bass Club. Joe was an avid fisherman and never hesitated to cast a line.
