Judy Lynn (Baker) Watson, 82, of Paxton passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2025, surrounded by her family. Up until the end Judy maintained her kindness, beauty, strength, love of family and friends.

Judy was born June 25, 1943 at Lake View Hospital, Danville, IL, the daughter of June Ellen (Weathers) Baker and Patrick Milton Baker of Potomac, IL. She had one brother, Mike (Rosemary) Baker of Danville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Caitlynn Taylor Riblet.

Judy was the beloved wife and best friend of 63+ years to Kenneth Leon Watson of Armstrong, IL.  They were married on February 23, 1962 at the Potomac Methodist Church, Potomac, IL. Kenneth and Judy raised their two children, Kelly Jo (Phillip) Fessler, Loda, IL and Timothy Lee (Cristal) Watson, Paxton, IL for many years in Foosland, IL. They were blessed with ten grandchildren: Christopher (Danielle) Bily, Caitlynn Riblet, Miguel (Bethany) Rowland, Megan Daniels, Zachary Fessler, Cody Fessler, Corrinne (Paul) Swanson, Esten Watson, Amanda Sheehan, and Zach (Dixie) Sheehan. Along with these blessings they also had thirteen great-grandchildren: Harper, Addison, Hudson, Franklin, Nathan, Emma, Marcus, Esten Jr., Everett, Grayson, Carson, Chloe and Charli. She was also a treasured aunt to several, with a special place in the hearts of Kacie (Steven) Chauncey and Kara (Matt) Barling and families.

Judy graduated from Potomac High School in 1961. She was a cheerleader for eight years, in elementary and high school there. Once she graduated Judy worked for Potomac High School as their secretary. After leaving Potomac High School, she went to work for the Judge Advocate General at Chanute Air Force base. She had many experiences where she had to travel and take shorthand notes (which she was a whiz at) and assist with court proceedings for the military. Judy also worked for the Civil Engineering Research Lab (CERL) as the executive secretary. She met and worked with many wonderful people who still love and care about her. Saying she had a smile that could light up a room.

Judy spent her retirement from CERL, bowling, playing cards, watching her grandchildren and pontoon boating. She was an avid sun worshipper and enjoyed the occasional Miller Lite in a glass. Friends were so important to Judy and Ken, they spent many fun years traveling, boating, and enjoying days in the sun and nights out to dinner. Judy truly embodied the adage of a life well lived.

Even after she lost the ability to walk, Judy would express how grateful she was to have her husband, Ken, to help her, often saying she didn't know what she would do without him. She also appreciated and looked forward to the bi-weekly visits from her caregiver, Brianna Slaughter. Especially when she was able to get her nails done by Brianna.

Judy decided at the end that she did not want any services for her final trip to heaven. Specifically, she wanted a party to celebrate her life on earth. This celebration is to be announced at a later date. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.
