Kaiden Phoenix McCubbins, 22 of Thomasboro, passed away at 5:28 a.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, 301 S. College Street, Paxton with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Rantoul.

Visitation will be two hours before the funeral service from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. also at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Kaiden was born July 19, 2004 in Urbana the son of Christopher McCubbins and Brittany Blakeman.

He is survived by his father, Chris (Sandy Overman) McCubbins; mother, Brittany Blakeman; siblings, Dylan McCubbins, Alexis McCubbins, Brenna Kostoff, Brooklyn Walchle, Mylie Walchle and Thomas Reeder; grandfather, Gary Teesdale and grandmother, Sheila (Dale) Ecker.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Kim Teesdale and grandfather, Joseph McCubbins.

Kaiden enjoyed playing softball and basketball and rap music. He loved spending time with his friends.
