Obituary

Karen K. Loschen, 76 of Champaign, died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2101 S. Prospect, Champaign with Rev. Lynette R. Chapman officiating.  Burial will follow in Kopmann Cemetery, Royal.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, at the church.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is handling arrangements.

Karen was born April 19, 1947, in Urbana the daughter of William Charles and Irene Cumbow Keller.  She married Norlyn Loschen June 18, 1966 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville.  He survives.

Along with her husband, Norlyn, she is survived by one son, Lindy (Jennifer) Loschen of Champaign; five grandchildren, Auggie Loschen, Alivia Chavers, Avery Loschen, Annie Loschen, Jax Loschen; six great grandchildren Easton, Lance, Briggs, Remmington, Rhett and Baylor; her mother-in-law, Bernice Loschen and one niece, Dawn Kommer and two nephews, Kyle Keller and Craig Tegg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lance Loschen; one brother, Charles William Keller and her father-in-law, Ralph Loschen.

Karen graduated from Rantoul Twp. High School in 1965. She was employed at the Social Security office, Champaign for 41 years and retired in 2007.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Champaign, the Champaign American Legion Post 24 Auxiliary and a former member of the Elks Club and Moose Lodge.

Karen was an avid baseball fan.  She was a baseball mom to many, worked in the concession stand and was a stat keeper.  She enjoyed vacationing in Florida, especially her time at the beach.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them play sports.
