Karin Rae Carpenter, 66 of Champaign, formerly of Paxton, died at 12:42 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Haven of Meadowbrook, Champaign.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton followed by burial in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Karin was born March 6, 1959, in Paxton the daughter of Harlan W. and Joanna Gail Williams Carpenter.

She is survived by a son, Cale (Shauna) Kuester; two granddaughters, Caydence and Kendalyn, all of Manhattan, Illinois; a brother, Kevin Carpenter of Paxton; three nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Karin graduated from Paxton High School 1977.  She was a medical transcriptionist and worked for Hancock Transcription Services for many years.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paxton.
