Kathryn Jane Alsip, 75, of Paxton, left this life surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 15, 2023.

She was born May 7, 1947, in Gibson City, the daughter of Frank J. and Lela Mae (Proffitt) Hudson.  She married Larry Alsip on October 1, 1994, at the First Christian Church, Gibson City.  He survives.

Along with her husband, Larry, she is survived by her children, Nancy (Dave Lauth) Kleiner of St. Charles, Missouri, Steven (Chemberlie) Johnson of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Michael (Stephanie) Johnson of Lake Iroquois; step-children Mike (Jessica) Alsip of Champaign, Matt (Lisa) Alsip of Ogden, Melissa (Robert) Ward of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren, Heather (Jim) Creason, Taura Ward, Wade (Bailey) Johnson, Kaylee Ward, Hunter Ketchum, Mallory Johnson, Ellie Ward, Lucas Kleiner-Esker, Madison Alsip; great-grandchildren, Espynn and Eastynn Johnson; four brothers Clyde (Linda) Hudson of Elliott, Carl (Donna) Hudson of Gibson City, Doug (Kathy) Hudson of Wentzville, Missouri, Glenn (Pat) Hudson of Clearwater, Florida; two sisters Mary Brickey of Gibson City, Ruth Copher of Fisher; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death and welcomed to Heaven by her beloved granddaughter and namesake, Natalie Kathryn Johnson, parents, siblings Jimmie Hudson and Margaret Martin and infant brother, Robert and her ex-husband, Allan Johnson.

Kathy graduated from Gibson City High School.  She worked at the University of Illinois for many years where she met her husband, Larry.  Together they lived in rural Urbana and at Bayles Lake for many years before moving to Paxton.  She enjoyed country music, "Boot Kickers" line dancing and her extensive owl collection.  She was also very fond of her black cats she had over the years.  Kathy's greatest love and joy was her family.

A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held at a later date.  A private family burial will be held at Drummer Twp. Cemetery, Gibson City. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.
