Kathryn L. "Kay" Marshall, 95, of Paxton passed away at 10:40 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells St., Paxton with Rev. John Hauck officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Kathryn was born July 30, 1921 in Loda the daughter of George and Fannie Greene Cornelius. She married Earl F. Marshall June 29, 1941 in Missouri. He preceded her in death November 1984.
She is survived by one son, Gerald E. (Brenda) Marshall of Champaign; two daughters, Cheryl K. (Larry) Phillips of Virginia Beach, VA, Patricia A. Carlson of Paxton; 9 grandchildren, Leslie (Justin) Smith, Curtis Marshall, Kathryn Eyre, Stephanie (Mike) Kyrouac, Kristin (Ben) Fountain, Ashley (Pat) Pierce, Jessica (Mike) Hoppe, Rebecca (Adam) Pope, Erin (Wayne) Clark; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers.
Kay spent her childhood on a farm near Loda and was a graduate of Loda High School. She and her husband lived on a farm near Ludlow until moving into Paxton in 1960. Kay was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Paxton and a former member of United Methodist Women. She was a beautician, and owned and operated her own shop out of her home, Kay's Beauty Shop, Paxton.
She enjoyed shopping, word-find puzzles and her little dogs. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
