Kenneth Ray Lenington, 81, a former Buckley resident, passed away on March 28, 2024, at his residence in Tustin, California.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for family and friends at 11:00 a.m. PST Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Calvary Church of Santa Ana, in Samsvick Chapel, with Pastor Matt Doan officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room. The address is 1010 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705. A livestream of the event will also be available online at Calvarylife.org.

A funeral service will be held graveside for family and friends at 1:00 p.m. CST Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. John's Cemetery, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. A reception will follow in the church basement at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Ken was born November 23, 1942, in Fairbury, IL. He is the son of Kenneth Bower Lenington and Florida Louise Theesfeld. After moving to Buckley, he was a student at St. John's Lutheran School. Ken attended and was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. Ken graduated from Buckley-Loda High School in 1960. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1963, obtaining the rank of Specialist E-5. After the military, he returned to Illinois. He resided in Watseka and was employed there for a couple years before deciding to move to California. In California he originally worked as a draftsman. Following that, he became the owner/operator of a successful printed circuit board design company, KL Design.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Thomas.

He is survived by three brothers, Ronald Lenington of Buckley, Steven (Robyn) Luhrsen of Manteno, Timothy Luhrsen of Buckley; two sons, Anthony (Andrea) Lenington of Tustin, CA, Michael (Un) Lenington of Tustin, CA, one daughter, Kristina Lenington; five grandchildren, Amber Lenington, Ashley (Russell) Spaeth, Ramon, Antonio, Isabella; three great granddaughters, Charlotte, Peighton, and Caliana.

Ken enjoyed living in both northern and southern California, going to the beach as often as possible, and attending car shows. He was an avid classic car fan and would enjoy regularly going to Huntington Beach, CA to see the various cars and listen to live surf music. He enjoyed spending time with all his family including his grandchildren and great grandchildren as often as possible. He was also very generous and polite to everyone he met.

He will surely be missed…
