Obituary

Leonard M. "Len" Peznowski, 67, of Roberts passed away at 2:43 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Leonard was born November 16, 1949 in Chicago the son of Leonard C. and Lucille Kulwiec Peznowski. He married Marcia Knawa September 27, 1970 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Chicago. She survives.

Along with his wife, Marcia, he is survived by five children, John (Gloria Truman) Peznowski of Watseka, Bridget (David Stockwell) Purdy of Cissna Park, Clint R. (Heather Brice) Peznowski of Decatur, Candace (Charles Williamson) Peznowski of Champaign, and Bret Peznowski of Roberts; three grandchildren, Drew Purdy, Rhiannon Purdy, and Phoebe Peznowski.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Len spent his childhood in Chicago. He was a graduate of De La Salle High School, Class of 1967. He attended Lewis University and Governor's State University. Len served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was the Chief Financial Officer for Neo Products Company, Chicago. Len and his wife moved to Orland Park in 1979 and later to Roberts in 2001.

He was a member of the Wagner Davis American Legion Post 641, Roberts and wrote a column for the Ford County Press called "Thinking Out Loud". He had a great love for sports, which he expressed by being a White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks and Illini fan. He was well known for being a punster.
