Linda Diane Cox, 70 of rural Rantoul, passed away at 3:38 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Robert Freeman officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda.

Visitation will be before the service from 10:00-12:00 Tuesday at the funeral home.

Linda was born October 8, 1952, in Paxton the daughter of Roy and Margaret Larkin Hilgendorf.  She married Charles Cox August 1980 at the Paxton United Methodist Church.  He survives.

Along with her husband, Charles, she is survived by a daughter Daniele (Bruce) Frerichs of Ogden; a son, Cole Cox of Rantoul; her parents Roy and Margaret Hilgendorf of Loda; five granddaughters, Hailie Cox, Lyla, Isabella, Lauren and Katherine Frerichs; a sister, Nancy (Harold) Ecker of Loda; three brothers Rich (Debbie) Hilgendorf of Le Roy, Mike (Marianne) Hilgendorf of Pontiac and Donald (Jo) Hilgendorf of Gibson City.

She was preceded in death by a son, Trent Martin.

Linda graduated from Buckley High School in 1971.  She was a member of the Loda Legion Auxiliary.  Linda's world revolved around her granddaughters.  She loved spending time with them and was always planning new experiences.
