Lois Frette, 90, of Paxton died peacefully Friday (Oct. 20, 2017) at home.
Visitation will be from 10-11am on Oct. 24 at Baier Family Funeral Home, 406 E. Pells St, Paxton. Funeral services will follow. The Reverend Priscilla Geerdes will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.
Lois was born in Pekin, IL, the daughter of John and Ruth Hanson. She was united in marriage 68.5 years ago to Wendell Frette at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Elliott, he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Allen) Dooley of Homer, and Karen (Don) Talleur of Urbana, and one son Jim (Anne) of Urbana; three grandchildren, Mike (Kelly) Skibbe of Schaumburg, Jeff (Dy-Ana) Skibbe of Tolono, and Jon Frette of Paxton; five great-grandchildren; and one brother John (Marge) of Neillsville, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Florence Hanson, Mary Lovvick, and Alice Abrahamson, two brothers, Earl and Chuck Hanson, and a granddaughter, Lindsey Frette, and a son-in-law, Tony Ayers.
Lois graduated from Paxton Community High School in 1945.
She was Assistant Secretary-Treasurer for the Ford County National Farm Loan Association and Secretary Bookkeeper for the Rachel Shaw Insurance Agency for five years.
She assisted her husband farming west of Fisher for 5 years and west of Paxton for 33 years.
Lois was an active member of the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. She was baptized and confirmed at Evangelical Covenant Church, Paxton. She was a member of the Pontoppidan WELCA serving on the Flower Committee for years. She was a member of the Perdueville Club, 4-H Leader of the Lucky Cloverleaf 4-H Club, Paxton Home Extension, the Ford County Historical Society, Loda and Rantoul Senior Citizens, Paxton Women's Club, and the DAR.
She enjoyed being with her family, loved to garden, raise flowers, and cook. She also enjoyed dancing and traveling.
The family wants to send a special thank you to the Carle Hospice team. They were angels.
