Lorin A. Schluter, 59 of rural Armstrong passed away at 2:06 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 in rural Penfield.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville with Rev. James T. Lehmann officiating. Burial will follow in Kopmann Cemetery. Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, in Diers Hall, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville.

Lorin was born on February 13, 1959 the son of Lawrence and Carolyn Harms Schluter.

He is survived by his father, Lawrence (Clarissa) Schluter of rural Armstrong; children Betsy (Beau) Drewes of Tolono, Travis Schluter of Georgia, Tiffany (Austin) Collier of West Virginia; siblings, Leon (Trina Ross) Schluter of Royal, Les (Kathy) Schluter of Royal, Leroy (Kelly) Schluter of Sidney, Lora (Mark) Keyes of Rantoul; five grandchildren Austin, Savannah, Scarlett, Kagen and Alaina; two step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Schluter and grandparents, Mike and Elfrieda Schluter and Edde and Johanna Harms.

Lorin graduated from Armstrong Twp. High School in 1977 and was All-State Boys Basketball Honorable Mention. He was the operator of Bibb's Country Restaurant in Potomac, Gifford, Champaign and Urbana for a number of years and was currently doing private catering.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville and the I & I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club. Lorin "Bibbs" was well known for his fried chicken and for having a pet bear back in the day. He was a big teddy bear loved by all.
