Lorraine Cronin Phillips, 90 of Rantoul, passed away at 6:41 p.m. Monday, September 7, 2026, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton Senior Living.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 11, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, 401 Glenwood Drive, Rantoul with Rev. Jacob Chase officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.

Visitation will be before the funeral service on Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. also at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Lorraine was born August 5, 1936, in Herrin the daughter of Romie and Hilda Veronte Cronin. She married Billy Joe Phillips on June 2, 1956. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2021.

Survivors include two daughters, Kendra (Brent) Little of Rantoul and Diana (Bob) Phillips-Gray of Tuscola; grandchildren, Jori Noelle Little, Chet (Devon) Little and Chase Lee Little, all of Rantoul; great grandchildren Kaiyren Little, Oaklynn Chaney and Brynleigh Little, all of Rantoul; sister, Diane Hughes of Marion; and beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brody Lee Little (great-grandson), Ryan M. Hughes (nephew), Larry G. Hughes (brother-in-law).

Lorraine was a graduate of Herrin High School and the IBM school in St. Louis, MO. She was employed at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul. She also worked for American Greeting Card Co.

She was an active member of the Rantoul First Baptist Church. Lorraine enjoyed painting and crafts. She bowled for many years, served as an election judge for over 50 years, and mentored with her husband at Broadmeadow School in Rantoul. Lorraine loved being with her family, cooking and traveling. Her bucket list was to see all fifty states which she did, plus 23 countries. She also wanted to take a hot air balloon ride; she got to do that on her 60th birthday. Lorraine wants to be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and most of all a child of God.
