Louise M. Stonestreet, 95, of Rantoul died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Gibson Area Hospital Annex, Gibson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at the American Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Rantoul with Rev. Tim Hubert officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Park Cemetery, Rantoul. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
Louise was born October 22, 1921, in Rantoul the daughter of Henry and Katherine Kopmann Sjoken. She married Kent Stonestreet on August 11, 1940 at the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul. He preceded her in death February 5, 2006.
She is survived by one son, Ron Stonestreet of Rantoul; two daughters, Jeanne (Les) Johnson of Thomasboro, Lynn Stonestreet of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Michael (Debi) Johnson of Mahomet, Eric (Amy) Johnson of Gibson City, Ryan (Heather) Johnson of Morrisville, NC, Joshua Williams of Chicago, Rebecca (Tony) Kinsey of Bloomington and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one sister, Emma Baermann and one great grandson, Adam.
Louise graduated from Rantoul Twp. High School. She was a very active member of the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul and was a former Sunday School and VBS teacher and member of the choir. Her greatest joy was being a grandma.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brookstone Estates, Rantoul for the love and care they gave Louise for 14 years. They also want to thank the staff of the Gibson Area Hospital Annex for the love and care they gave Louise over the past year.
