Manuel F. "Butch" Yocum, 71 of Paxton, passed away at 4:34 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in Chesterton Cemetery, Indiana. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Butch was born February 14, 1947 in Gary, Indiana the son of Floyd D. and Leona Runyan Yocum. He graduated from Griffith High School, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Fairchild AFB, Spokane, Washington. He was employed by Pittsburg Plate and Glass Company, Highland, Indiana for many years.

Before moving to Paxton in 2010, he lived in Gary, Indiana, Griffith, Indiana and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. He was a member of the Griffith American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and traveling to Europe. His greatest joy was his family especially his nieces and nephews.

Butch is survived by two sisters, Nancy Hays of Paxton, Cathy Steele of Chesterton, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
