Margie M. Wolken, 88 of Gifford; formerly of Thomasboro, died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Country Health Nursing Home, Gifford.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Flatville with Rev. James T. Lehmann and Rev. Barbara Busboom officiating. Burial will follow in Beckman Cemetery, Rural Rantoul.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday in Dier's Hall, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Flatville. Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is handling arrangements.

Margie was born June 28, 1928, in rural Champaign County the daughter of Ohrend and Carrie Bunting Post. She married Alvin J. Wolken on March 18, 1949 at the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2003.

She is survived by two daughters, Judith (Ray) Rademaker of Rantoul, Diane (Tom) Wood of rural Fisher; one son, Kevin (Linda) Wolken of rural Thomasboro; five grandchildren, Michael (Niki) Esslinger, Ryan (Amy) Rademaker, Jill (Gary) Duden, Kurt (Sarah) Wolken, Sarah (Lance Merry) Wood; six great grandchildren, Anna and Laney Duden, Hunter and Emily Rademaker, Myles and Tucker Wolken and a sister, Annette Carlson of Rantoul.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Helen Wolken and a brother-in-law, Vernon Wolken.

Margie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Flatville. She was a former Sunday School and VBS teacher and a former member of the church women's group. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning. Her greatest joy was spoiling her grandchildren.
