Obituary

Marilyn Rae Clark, 77, of Rantoul passed away at 8:15 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare, Champaign.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton with Pastor Rachel Stockle officiating. Burial will follow in Danville National Cemetery, Danville.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton.

Marilyn was born June 20, 1940 in Aurora the daughter of Raymond Monroe and Mary Roush Lampson. She married John Edward Clark, February 24, 1990 at the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul. He survives.

Along with her husband, she is survived by four sons, Marvin (Doreen) Scherbring of Rantoul, Tom (Sherri) Scherbring of Loda, Chuck Scherbring of St. Charles, MO, Jim Scherbring of Rantoul; two step-daughters, Jackie (Don) Hall of Phoenix, Tracy (Larry) Rix of Rantoul; one step-son, Christopher Sprunger of El Paso, TX; 11 grandchildren, Richy (Katrina) Finney, Erica (Charles) Weyhenmeyer, Melissa (Dwayne) Cooper, Justin (Emily) Scherbring, Heather (Chase) Hammond, Taylor Scherbring, Tony Scherbring, Nick Scherbring, Breona Rix, Justin Rix, and Kayla Hall; 8 great grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Margaret "Peggy" Lampson; and one brother, Purly Wayne Lampson.

Marilyn spent her childhood in Snyder, TX graduating from Snyder High School. She moved to Rantoul in 1974 and worked in housing at Chanute Air Force Base for many years. She later worked at the Champaign Public Health Department in the Vital Records Department.

She enjoyed quilting and was an avid NASCAR fan. Above all else, she loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
