Marilyn Louise Niemann, 91 of Buckley, died at 8:42 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Villas of Holly Brook, Rantoul.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley with Rev. J. Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.
Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, at the church. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is handling arrangements.
Marilyn was born August 3, 1934, in Buckley the daughter of William and Esther Ecker Janssen. She married Ervin F. Niemann April 10, 1955, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. He preceded her in death November 26, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Karl) Farwig of Findlay, Ohio, Wendy (Jim) Doebel of Urbana; three grandchildren, Brent (Rachel) Farwig, Phil (Alyssa) Farwig, Nick Farwig; one great granddaughter, Nora Farwig; three sisters, Lillian Cluver of Cissna Park, Carolyn Teske of Cissna Park and Fern Stasiak of Tinley Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother in infancy, Ronald Janssen and her sister, Lois Krumwiede.
Marilyn graduated from Buckley High School. She was the Buckley Postmaster and retired in 1999.
She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, a member of the Ladies Aid and a former member of the church choir. Marilyn was very patriotic and coordinated the placement of American flags along Rt. 45 through Buckley. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and reading.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley, Transitions Hospice or an organization of the donor's choice. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.baierfuneralservice.com.
