Mary Elizabeth Dudley, 96, of Urbana, a former Loda resident, passed away at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A private family graveside service will be held at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Loda. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born June 14, 1921 in Knox County, Indiana the daughter of Fred H. and Mary Angela Russell Patterson. She married Lonnie W. Dudley on December 26, 1951 in Watseka. He proceeded her in death October 4, 1977.


She is survived by her children, Ronald L. Dudley of Loda, Robin L. (Sherry) Hatton of St. Louis, Missouri, Ramona G. (Tedd) King of Bayles Lake, Loda, Rebecca A. Hofer of Hoopeston, Renita L. Jackson of Urbana, John W. Dudley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and a sister, Virginia Jean Reutter of Cissna Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Glenn Allison, Fred Patterson, Jr.; three sisters, Clara Arizona Savage, Anna Louise Lindell and Ruth Jane Francis.

Mary graduated from Loda High School and was a member of the Loda United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading and working on puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
