Mary Ellen Holverson, 78 of Rantoul, passed away at 4:39 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Harvest Church, 2118 Cindy Lynn, Urbana.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born March 13, 1947, in Urbana the daughter of Earl A. and Ruby Emerson Ayers.  She married Donald Holverson June 15, 1963, at the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul.  He survives.

Along with her beloved husband, Don, she is survived by four daughters, Dawn Reneé (Jon) Steepleton of Paxton, Amy Lynn (Joseph) Arnone of Cabot, Arkansas, Kimberly Gayle (David) Kaiser of Rantoul, Martha Kay (James) Guerard of Gresham, Oregon; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two brothers Michael (Martha) Ayers of Rantoul and Gregory Ayers of Champaign.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Ayers.

Along with being a full-time homemaker, Mary provided daycare in her home for many years.

She enjoyed cooking, decorating her home and flower arranging.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
