Melody Ann Loschen, 61 of rural Potomac passed away at 3:26 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at her home in rural Potomac.
Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church, 301 E. Church Street, Royal with a prayer service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Baier Family Funeral Services, Flatville is assisting the family with arrangements.
A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Partlow Cemetery, Armstrong.
Melody was born September 22, 1956, in Danville the daughter of Harold and Dorothy Pollitt Neal, Sr. She married Gerald Loschen on July 19, 1975 at #10 Church of Christ, rural Armstrong. He survives.
Along with her husband, Gerald, she is survived by two sons, Wayne (Seyward) Loschen of Woodbine, Maryland and David (Heather) Loschen of Carrolton, Texas; four grandchildren, Alyson, Thomas, Emma and Jake; two brothers, Harold (Lynn) Neal Jr. of Catlin, Carl (Julie) Neal of Catlin and her father-in-law, Bill "Smokey" Loschen of rural Fithian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marsha Mason and Linda Neal and her mother-in-law, Anna Loschen.
Melody graduated from Oakwood High School in 1975. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Royal. She retired from the USPS in the fall of 2015 after serving as Postmaster of Collison for 15 years.
She was active in her children's school activities and local charities and enjoyed watching her sons grow into young men.
