Michael L.  Tipsord, 71 of Paxton, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Pastor Colleen Lawrence officiating.  A private family burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, at the funeral home.

Mike was born November 14, 1953, in Gibson City the son of Joseph E. and Patricia S. Turner Tipsord.

He is survived by his mother, Pat, and numerous cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Mike graduated from Paxton High School in 1971.  He attended Parkland College and received an Associate Degree.  Mike retired from Baltimore Air Coil, Paxton.

He was an assistant track and cross-country coach for PBL High School.  He enjoyed all sports, camping, hiking, the mountains and traveling to Canada.
