Mitsuko "Lucy" Bent, 89 of Paxton, passed away at 2:04 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton.

Visitation will be from 11:30-12:30 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Champaign.

Mitsuko was born February 5, 1929 in Tokyo, Japan the daughter of Shojiro and Kiyo Sakai Ishii. She married William F. Bent April 19, 1954 in Tokyo, Japan. Bill died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, September 9, 2018; 19 hours later.

She is survived by four relatives in Japan, Nobuyuki Koyanagi, Masayoshi Koyangi, Keiko Matsumoto, Norioki Ishii; two nieces, Katherine Bent of Racine, Wisconsin and Barbara Bent of Spokane, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers.

Lucy graduated from high school in Japan. She worked in the military hospital in Japan where she met her husband, Bill. After moving to Paxton in 1974, she worked for a number of years at ECC. Her hobbies included sewing and knitting.
