Myron Duane Frichtl, 93 of Bloomington; formerly of Paxton, died at 1:29 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 407 W Pells, Paxton with Father Nestor Sanchez officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors by the Paxton American Legion Prairie Post 150. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Myron was born February 23, 1930, in Tuscola the son of Adam and Eileen Keller Frichtl.  He married Rose Anna Genzel April 14, 1952, in Penfield.  She survives.

Along with his wife Rose Anna, he is survived by two daughters Annette (Bob) Hancock of Bloomington, Melanie Wehrle of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one son, Duane (Lynne) Frichtl of Hendersonville, Tennessee; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers Ed Frichtl of Paxton, Darrell Frichtl; one sister Mary (Terry) Lewis of Mahomet.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Geneva Thilmony and brother Don Frichtl.

Myron graduated from Loda Twp. High School.  He served in the United States Navy 1951-54 and was stationed on the USS Columbus. Myron worked for M.J. Mains Company, Paxton and in 1964 he bought the business and renamed it M & R Supply Co.  He owned and operated this business until his retirement.

In 2021, he and his wife moved from Paxton to Westminster Village, Bloomington.  While there, he looked forward to attending the veteran meetings.  He enjoyed vegetable gardening, word search and riding his bicycle.
