Norma Lucille Nafziger, 97, of Paxton passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. at Illinois Knights Templar Home, Paxton.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Norma was born November 26, 1919 in Clarence the daughter of Robert I. and Ida Christine Dahl Smith. She married Ralph "Tuffy" Nafziger on January 11, 1938 in Veedersburg, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1984.
She is survived by one daughter, Janis (Richard) Keyser of Roscoe; five grandchildren, Kristina (Paul) Sullivan of West Allis, WI, Jared (Amy) Keyser of Anchorage, AK, Chad (Tara) Keyser of Arden, NC, Jason Keyser of West Allis, WI, Todd (Shelley) Nafziger; five great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Donald Nafziger; two brothers; and one sister.
Norma was a graduate of Paxton High School. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Paxton and was very active in the church. She was also a member of the Paxton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle.
