Obituary

Norman "Stormin' Norman" Howard Creveling, 79 of Buckley, passed away at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his home.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with Pastor Tim Delaney officiating, and military honors accorded by the Buckley American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432.

Norm was born June 18, 1945, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Charles and Cora Bohne Creveling.  He married Barbara Ann Roy April 10, 1992, in Danville.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Barbara, he is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Tim) Long of Arcola, Heather Haile of Thomasboro; a son, Travis Creveling of Buckley; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Col. William "Bill" Creech, USA (retired) of Oxford, Mississippi, Randall Roy of Danville; sister-in-law, Linda VanZandt of Dowell; a nephew, Richard Masterson and a niece, Peggy Masterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ginny Masterson; brother, Ronald Creveling and two nephews, Wesley Masterson, Jr. and Randy Masterson.

Norm was a United States Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam war.  He was the owner and operator of Norm's Service, Buckley since 1977.  Norm had also worked at Chanute Air Force Base as the boiler operator, Incobrasa Industries, Gilman and Baltimore Air Coil, Paxton.

He enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs and White Sox baseball, TV westerns and WWE wrestling. Norm loved working and also considered it his hobby.
