Onis D. Baize, Jr., 70 of Paxton; formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.

Onis was born August 11, 1953, in Normal the son of Onis D. and Mildred Johnston Baize, Sr.

He graduated from Normal High School and served in the United States Army. He owned and operated Baize Landscaping in Bloomington for 30 years.

Onis is survived by one son, Joseph (Jennifer) Baize of Ludlow; three daughters, Misty Howard of Colfax, Melissa Baize of Boise, Idaho, Mary Baize of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Reba (Jim) Oregon and Kathy (Victor) Grethey both of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Bobbi Jo Baize and one brother, Kenny Baize.

Onis enjoyed fixing stuff around the house and especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.
