Peggy Jo Irvin, 67, of Sidney, formerly of Paxton passed away at 2:17 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells St, Paxton with Pastor Ashley Clifton officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Peggy was born December 12, 1957 in Danville the daughter of Paul Donald and Barbara Jean Mell Cleary. She married Rodney M. Irvin on October 10, 1981 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton. He survives.

Along with her husband, Rodney, she is survived by two sons, Mark (Jessica) Irvin of Boone, Iowa, Alex (Nicole) Irvin of Ogden; five grandchildren, Avery, Addilyn, Jude, Silas, and Mazie; mother-in-law, Barbara Jean Irvin of Paxton; sister-in-law, Julie Irvin of Paxton; brother-in-law, Bob Hein of rural Rankin; one nephew, Donald (Desiree) Cleary, and three nieces, Rachel (Dustin) Steele, Angie (Shane) Ritter, and Hannah Hein.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Cleary; two sisters, Teresa Stone, Alyce Hein; and father-in-law, Melvin Irvin.

Peggy spent her childhood in rural Paxton and graduated from Paxton High School in 1976. She worked for DM Fertilizer, Hoopeston for 15 years and with Doug Higgins at Sav-Mor Pharmacy and Doug's Pharmacy for over 20 years. Peggy was a member of the Rankin United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed reading and in her younger years, cross stitching. Most of all Peggy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
