Rachael Carter, 72 of Paxton passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at her home.

A private family ceremony will be held December 29, 2020. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rachael was born November 30, 1948 in Terre Haute, Indiana the daughter of George and Anna Jane Hughes Reffett. She married Leon Levon Carter in August 1986 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. He preceded her in death August 17, 2003.

She is survived by fiancé, Donald Bickel of Paxton; five children, David (Nancy) McCoy, III of Chesterton, Indiana, Dawn (Jeff) Renner of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Douglas (Tillie) McCoy of Vancleave, Mississippi, Denise (Shannon) Manger of New Orleans, Louisiana, Barbara Lawson of New Orleans, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two brothers, Troy and Charlie Reffett.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, David McCoy, IV; and two sisters, Nancy Bollett and Marilyn Weaver.

Rachael like shopping and traveling, Mardi Gras and was an avid collector of Pandas. You would never see her without her Coca-Cola. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
