William Randall "Randy" McQuinn, 58 of Urbana; formerly of Paxton, passed away at 9:03 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home.

A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton.

Randy was born March 20, 1966, in Crawfordsville, Indiana the son of Jerry D. and Phyllis J. McFall McQuinn.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis McQuinn-Allison of Paxton; sister, Terry (Ken) Fox of Edcouch, TX; two brothers, Tom (Lori) McQuinn of Paxton, Bob (Carol) McQuinn of Goodlettsville, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry McQuinn, stepfather, Stanley Allison, Sr. and great nephew, Colin Bane.

Randy never met a stranger and left lasting impressions on all he met, making numerous friends along the way.  Everyone that knew him held a special place for him in their heart.  It was determined early in his life that he had Downs Syndrome.  He went to school in Gibson City, Elliott and Paxton attending classes in the special needs department.  He loved being a "student".  He also loved "going to work" at the Developmental Service Center in Urbana.  He was so proud when he was made "Employee of the month".  The qualifications were very high, and the award was presented with honor and distinction. If there was a day that he couldn't make it to work, it was devastating to him as he thoroughly enjoyed his job.  He also held jobs at the Savoy Theatre, Salt and Light, Urbana Park District and some local restaurants.  His favorite job was being the "official scorekeeper" for the Paxton Swedes.  He was excellent at keeping an accurate score and no one could "trick" him to alter it even though the jokesters tried.

Randy was a frequent traveler visiting Disney World, Graceland, Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville and many major league ballfields and NASCAR racetracks and also traveling the Amtrak railway with his lifelong pass.  He attended Camp New Hope for many years and looked forward to it every summer.  He also competed in the Special Olympics winning numerous medals and ribbons for his accomplishments.  He was a bowler with the Champaign Park District and a prior member of Parkland Pops. Randy was an avid Cubs, Bears, Illini and NASCAR fan.

We ask that anyone who comes to the visitation please feel free to wear any Cubs, Bears, Illini or NASCAR apparel if you would like to.
