Richard A. "Burt" Lancaster of Ludlow passed away at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church, 619 S Railroad Ave, Paxton with Pastor Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Ludlow Twp. Cemetery, Rantoul with military honors by Rantoul American Legion Post 287. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service.
Richard was born February 11, 1954 in Akron, Ohio the son of Maxwell and Eunice Elwood Lancaster. He married Terri Jo Hardin January 25, 1984 in Champaign. She survives.
Along with his wife, Terri he is survived by; four sons, Jeremy (Pamela) Hardin of Bloomington, Justin Hardin of Ludlow, Joshua (Jennifer) Hardin of Ludlow, Jarred Lancaster of Ludlow; one daughter, Kayla Lancaster of Paxton; eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Madeleine, Steven, Caydin, Cameron, Colin, Clara, Khloe; three brothers, Bob Lancaster of California, Tom (Allison) Lancaster of California, David (Jodi) Lancaster of Akron, Ohio; and one sister, Joanne (John) Bondi of Akron, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burt graduated from Firestone High School and attended Parkland College majoring in Automotive. He served in the United States Air Force from 1978-1983 achieving the rank of Master Sergeant and was an instructor at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul. Burt later worked for Rantoul Products from 1987 until 2007, when he retired. He was a member of Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Church, Paxton and a former member of the Rantoul American Legion Post 287.
He loved cooking and motorcycles. Burt liked fixing lawn mowers and working on cars. He was an avid "yard saler". Most of all, Burt loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
