Richard W. "Dickey" Mabis, 80 of Paxton, died at 1:22 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Pat Allin officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home

Richard was born September 16, 1942, in Urbana the son of Wilbur W. and Dorothy J. Hoye Mabis.

He is survived by his cousins and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William Michael "Mickey" Mabis and Allin Dewayne "Lanny" Mabis.

Richard had worked for a number of years in housekeeping at Brokaw Hospital, Peoria.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Paxton.  He enjoyed collecting garage sale items, decorating his front yard, watching movies and going out to eat.  Richard loved visiting with people and spending time with family and friends. He was always a happy person
