Rev. Robert G. Killion, 92 of Paxton, died at 5:34 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025, at PaxNaz, 302 W. State Street, Paxton with Rev. Adam Wood officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton and at PaxNaz from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Saturday before the funeral service.

Robert was born February 7, 1933, in Ashboro, Indiana the son of Henry and Verna Krider Killion.  He married Shirley L. Miller July 5, 1952, in Brazil, Indiana.  She preceded him in death June 8, 2016.

He is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Janice) Killion of Old Monroe, Missouri; a daughter, Barbara (Jim) Foster of Paxton; six grandchildren, Brittany, Robert (Amanda), Zachary (Anna), Phil (Julie), Becky, Liz; six great grandchildren, Levi, Meredith, Violet, Louise, Ryan and Audrey; and one sister, Margaret Hughbanks of Coleman, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Nellie Taylor and a brother Ronnie Joe Killion.

Robert graduated from Ashboro High School in 1951 as Valedictorian of his class.  He served in the United States Army 1953-1955.  He then went on to complete a four-year apprenticeship and graduated December 27, 1956, from Allison Division of General Motors as a Journeymen Machine Repairman. On June 4, 1964, he graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a major in Religion and a minor in psychology.

He was pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Paxton for 22 years and worked at Baltimore Aircoil for 26 years as the Senior Manufacturing Engineer. He retired as the pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Milford in 2025.  Robert was a pastor for 61 years.

Besides his love for the church, Robert had a passion for softball.  He coached his daughter, granddaughters and great granddaughters.  He especially enjoyed coaching pitching. He could talk hours about softball pitching.  He also loved working around his house and taking care of his lawn.

He cared for and loved his church family and prayed for all of them daily. He deeply loved his family and continually prayed for them too.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.
