Robert L. Niles, 88 of Buckley, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Burial in Lyman Cemetery, Roberts will be at a later date. Baier Family Funeral Services, Buckley is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert was born November 22, 1931 on a farm in rural Cisco the son of Harry and Blanche Barclay Niles. He married Jane Eleanor Orr June 11, 1950 in Onarga. She survives.

Along with his wife, Jane of nearly 70 years, he is survived by a daughter, Marsha (Don) Hunter of Tower Hill; two sons, Leslie (Patricia) Niles of Belleville, Wisconsin, Virgil (Janet) Niles of Roberts; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one brother, Paul (Sandy) Niles of Decatur.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son and one granddaughter.

Robert graduated from Onarga High School in 1949. He lived in the Roberts and Buckley area since 1950. He was a life-long farmer and farming was his passion. He also sold seed corn for 30 years. Robert and Jane looked forward to and always enjoyed wintering in Florida and in the later years, Arizona.
