Robert A. "Bob" Schneider, 78, of rural Paxton passed away at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Robert was born September 21, 1946 in Chicago Heights the son of Nicholas and Lucy Savoy Schneider. He married Roberta A. "Cookie" Wike on June 26, 1971 in Markham, Illinois. She preceded him in death November 21, 2013.

He is survived by three sons, John (Jonathon Williamson) Schneider of Bloomington, David Schneider of Hammond, IN, Steven Schneider of Paxton; four grandchildren, Steven Schneider, Andrew Schneider, Edward Schneider, Alex (Adam) Abuzead and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his brother and his wife, Charles and Janet Schneider and his sister and her husband, Carol and Don Radtke.

Bob spent his childhood in Chicago Heights and graduated from Bloom Township High School, Chicago Heights in 1964. He served in the United States Army for two years. Bob was a lineman splicer for AT&T in Glenwood and Champaign.  He was a member of the Calumet City American Legion.

Bob enjoyed classic cars, especially Corvettes, word and crossword puzzles, cats, and doing yard work. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
