Rodney Wayne Larkin, 37, of Thomasboro passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Paxton Church of Christ, 400 W. Ottawa, Paxton with Robert Caudill, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Rantoul.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2026 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells St, Paxton and also from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Rodney was born December 21, 1988 in Danville the son of David Wayne and Diana Lynn Osborn Larkin. He married Kaylee Nicole Sleigh on October 8, 2016 at The Linden in Rantoul.

Along with his wife, Kaylee, he is survived by his daughter Charlee Larkin; parents, David and Diana Larkin of Potomac; two brothers, Ron (Terri) Larkin of Westland, Michigan, Ryan Larkin of Savoy; two nephews, Ethan and Easton Larkin; niece, Kade Black; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debbie and Dale Sleigh of Fisher; sister-in-law, Kylie Sleigh of Fisher; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Rebecca “Mae” Larkin and John and Jennie Osborn.

Rodney spent his childhood in Potomac and graduated from Armstrong High School in 2007. He was baptized and attended First Baptist Church, Hoopeston. Rodney worked as a grill master at Red Lobster for eight years, University of Illinois Faculty and Services for six years and Little Roch’s in Royal for 2 years.

Rodney was a man of many passions, from woodworking to cooking, and embraced his love for playing video games and Dungeons and Dragons. A devoted Magic the Gathering card game enthusiast, he also cherished spending time outdoors, particularly when fishing. His greatest joy was being with family and friends, especially his beloved daughter, Charlee. Rodney's humor left a lasting impression on everyone, including Kaylee, who remembers him as one of the funniest people she knew.
