Roger M. Gibson, Jr., 45, of Loda passed away Friday, July 28, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells St, Paxton with Mr. Kyle Merkle officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors accorded by the Loda American Legion Post 503.

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2023 at the funeral home.

Roger was born July 24, 1978 in Meadville, Pennsylvania the son of Roger M. and Virginia Fuller Gibson. He married Donna Houtzel September 24, 2022 in Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Donna, he is survived by two sisters, Melissa (J. Anderson) Gibson of Evanston, Rebecca Gibson Goodnight of Paxton; nephew, Charlie Goodnight; special niece, Anna Renfrow; special nephews, Aden Renfrow and Austin Renfrow, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Roger graduated from PBL High School in 1998 and obtained an Associate's Degree from Parkland Community College in 2001. He was a licensed EMT. Roger served in the US Navy from 2002-2010 and was stationed in San Diego, California. He worked at the Loda Egg Farm for 8 years before going to work at Caterpillar, Champaign as an Advanced Warehouse Associate.  Roger was a member of the Loda American Legion Post 503.

Roger was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed shooting and loved watching movies.
