Roger D. Schunke, 69 of Paxton, died at 2:33 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023, at his home.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m.

Roger was born April 21, 1954, in Watseka the son of Raymond A. and Mildred A. Stoup Schunke.  He married Sandra "Suni" Petticord December 25, 1988 in Martinsville, Indiana.  She survives.

Along with his wife Suni, he is survived by his mother, Mildred Schunke of Gilman; two daughters, Tabatha (Mike) Fish of Brush Creek, Tennessee, Chantelle (Ray) MacKay of Lebanon, Tennessee; two sons, Richard Douglas (Tracie) Hull of Ansonia, Ohio, Mark Allen (Kathy) Hull of Sebring, Florida; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and two sisters Virginia (Bob) Blair of Bunker Hill, Indiana and Irma Wesley of Van Buren, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Raymond Schunke and four grandchildren.

Roger graduated from Gilman High School in 1972.  He was a motorcycle mechanic and owned and operated Suni's Plain to Insane Cycles for 40 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Riders Organization and the Sons of The American Legion.  Roger had a passion for motorcycles and loved his family and friends.  He didn't know a stranger, had a super sense of humor and was a great prankster.  Roger also loved animals and was known to many as the "animal whisperer".
