Ronald Leslie Dukek, 77 of Paxton, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A private family graveside service will be held at Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ronald was born November 13, 1943 in Bagley, Minnesota the son of Lester John and Freida Mae Beaver Dukek. He married Dolores Ann Karotis June 6, 1966 in Washington, DC and were married for 55 years. She survives.

Along with his wife, Dolores, he is survived by two sons Larry (Karen) McCoy of Nashville, TN and Doug (Vickie) McCoy of Paxton; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roger and Robert Dukek.

Ron graduated from Bagley High School in 1961 and from Eastern Illinois University in 1983. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1981 and retired as a Master Sergeant. During his time in the Air Force, he was stationed in Washington DC, Texas, Georgia, Okinawa, Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois and California. He then went on to become a shop teacher at the Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School from 1986-2006.

He was a member of the Paxton Covenant Church. Ron loved his country, politics, woodworking, playing cards and wintering in Texas. He had a memory for facts and trivia.
