Ronald Roe Evitt, 83 of Paxton, died at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 407 W. Pells Street, Paxton with Father Dong van Bui officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton with military honors by the Loda American Legion Post 503.

Visitation will be before the service on Saturday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells Street, Paxton.

Ronald was born July 24, 1939, in Paris the son of John Francis and Betty Irene Fillinger Evitt.  He married Mildred Winter September 3, 1967, in Kenmore, New York.  She survives.

Along with his wife, Millie, he is survived by two daughters, Theresa "Trece" Rheeling of Carey and Kelly Goodnight of Paxton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Dale Evitt of Paris.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Ronald served in the United States Army for two tours and retired as a sergeant.  He was a radar technician stationed in Iceland.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Paxton and the Loda American Legion Post 503.  He enjoyed motorcycles, country music and his dog.
