Ronald Kent Stonestreet, 79 of Rantoul, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at American Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Rantoul with Rev. James T. Lehmann officiating.  Burial will follow in Eden Park Cemetery, Rantoul with military honors.

Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at American Lutheran Church, Rantoul.  Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

Ron was born December 12, 1944, in Urbana, the son of Kent and Louise Sjoken Stonestreet.

He is survived by two sisters, Jeanne (Les) Johnson of Thomasboro, Lynn Stonestreet of Bloomington; one niece, Rebecca Kinsey; four nephews Joshua Williams, Michael Johnson, Eric Johnson, Ryan Johnson and several great nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents.

Ron graduated from Rantoul Twp. High School in 1962.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1966.  Ron served in the United States Air Force for four years and retired as Major in the Air Force National Guard.  He then worked in the Electric Division of Rantoul Public Works and later retired from there.

He was a life-long member of the American Lutheran Church, Rantoul and a member of the Corvette Club. Ron loved the outdoors and enjoyed bike riding and motorcycle riding.  He was an avid dog lover.
