Rosemary "Rosie" Harper, 83 of Paxton, passed away at 9:18 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Rev. Pat Allin officiating.  Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Rosie was born April 21, 1941, in Tuscola, the daughter of Arthur T. and Nellie B. Brackney Harper.

She is survived by a sister, Delores J. Coulter of Paxton; four nieces and nephews, Debbie (Larry) Sexton, Dan (Jane) Coulter, Terri Richards, Larry Harper and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law Art Jr. and Derys Harper, brother-in-law, Melvin Coulter and one nephew, David Coulter.

Rosie graduated from Buckley High School.  She worked for ECC for 34 years and for MSCI, Rantoul for more than 10 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Paxton.  Rosie was diagnosed with severe scoliosis at a young age.  Even though it took a toll on her body, she continued to have a strong will and spirit to live.

Though Rosie never had children of her own, she loved and cared deeply for her nieces and nephews.
