Rozetta Evelena "Rose" Madara, 88, of Paxton passed away peacefully at 7:47 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025 with her granddaughter Ashley at her side at Accolade Healthcare of Paxton on Pells.

There will be no services at this time. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rose was born August 21, 1936 in Kangley, Illinois the daughter of Edward and Dorothy Chamberlin Schall. She married Eugene Madara and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Michael Madara of Streator, daughter, Jeanette (Art) Heaps of Seattle, Washington, six grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel Leach) Nelson of Gibson City, Patrick, Brittney, Bryce, Ryan and Lindsey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Edwin Fredrick Schall, Robert Schall and a sister Ruth Mae Prater.

Rose spent her childhood in Streator. She was a kindergarten teacher in Seattle for many years and later worked for the City of Seattle for a number of years before retiring. Rose served in the United States Marine Corps. She enjoyed playing BINGO and loved going to the boat in Peoria.
