Scott Lee Carlson, 62 of Paxton, surrounded by his loving family, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, February 18, 2021 after a ten-month battle with cancer.

Private family services will be held and burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is handling arrangements.

A public Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Scott was born November 9, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Lee Raymond and Joyce Heacock Carlson. He married Barbara Ann Greene May 25, 1985 at the First Lutheran Church, Paxton. She survives.

Along with his wife, Barb, he is survived by a son, Adam (Alicia) Carlson of Midlothian, Virginia; two daughters, Navy Lieutenant Mary Aubrey Carlson of San Diego, California, University of Illinois Senior, Shannon Carlson of Paxton; a grandson Drew Carlson; his mother, Joyce Carlson of Paxton, a sister Pam (Britt) Hassan of Shirley; two nephews Steven and David Howard and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Scott graduated from Paxton High School in 1976 and attended the University of Illinois. He was sales manager for Poly Conversions, Inc. for 31 years and also farmed the family farm for several years.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Paxton and a former Button Twp. board member.

Scott enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, history and sports. He had a great sense of humor and was a larger-than-life character. He was a patriot and loved his country and community. Scott was a loving son, brother, husband, dad and gramps; he will be missed.
