Scott Alan Meuser, 62, of Paxton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in rural Champaign County.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Buckley.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 30, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton.

Scott was born on August 24, 1962, in Champaign, Illinois, the son of Albert Robert and Lavonne Jean (Behrens) Meuser. He married Jean Matheny on July 8, 1995, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buckley. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2024.

He is survived by his daughter, Nikki (Dave) Miller of Champaign, and his son, Cory (Lisa) Matheny of Bloomington; six grandchildren: Zach, Ally, Jake, Jessi, Chris, and Elsie; two brothers, Lonnie (Janet) Meuser of Missouri and Steven (Debbie) Meuser of Paxton; his sister, Connie J. (Terry) Flesher of Eureka; and several nieces and nephews.

Scott graduated from Fisher High School and spent most of his career working in the construction field. While he took pride in his work, his greatest passion was his family—being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He later transitioned to driving a semi-truck, hauling seed and grain for a local farming operation, a role he truly enjoyed in retirement. Scott was a man of faith and an avid outdoorsman who especially loved hunting. He also found joy in fishing and singing.
