Sheila Jessie Loudermilk,87, of Paxton passed away at 9:15 a.m., October 27, 2023 at Faith Place Memory Care, Prairieview Lutheran Home, Danforth.

Private family services will be held in Danville National Cemetery. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sheila was born September 23, 1936 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada the daughter of James and Minnie Fisher Fletcher. She married Donald Lee Loudermilk on December 23, 1965 in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. He preceded her in death May 5, 2021.

She is survived by a daughter, Maureen (Keith) Heintzelman of Paxton, son, James (Tammy) Loudermilk of Dothan, Alabama; one grandson, Corbin Loudermilk; a brother, Gerald (Aileen) Fletcher of Mission, British Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marilyn MacEachen and brother-in-law, Ron MacEachen.

Sheila graduated from the Sydney Academy in 1954 and later secretarial school in Ottawa, Canada. She served in the Canadian Foreign Service as an Ambassador's Secretary and was stationed in Prague, Czechoslovakia and Ankara, Turkey where she met her husband Don who was in the United States Air Force. They were stationed many places which included Little Rock AFB in Arkansas, Williams AFB in Arizona, Chanute AFB in Rantoul, Edwards AFB in California, and Nevada, Missouri before her husband returned to Chanute AFB in Rantoul.

Sheila was a member of First United Methodist Church, Paxton; United Methodist Women and was in charge of the food pantry that was previously at the church. She was member of the Eastern Star, Prospect Chapter No. 367 O.E.S.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
