Stanley R. Sheetz, 69, of Loda passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his home.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Melvin Cemetery, Melvin with Rev. Debra Domeier officiating. Military honors will be accorded by Buckley American Legion Byron A. Hickerson Post 432. Arrangements are being handled by Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton.

Stanley was born November 27, 1947 in Paxton the son of Richard L. and Viola L. Hilgendorf Sheetz. He married Judith Marie Fancher March 17, 1973 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Buckley. She preceded him in death February 1, 2015.

Stan is survived by his mother, Viola L. Sheetz of St. Louis, MO; three brothers, Gary (Marlene) Sheetz of St. Louis, MO, Leslie (Margaret) Sheetz of Chatham, and Lynn (Terrie) Sheetz of Plainfield.

He was preceded in death by his father and wife, Judith Sheetz.

Stan traveled extensively with his family while his father was in the United States Air Force. He graduated from South Dade Senior High School in Homestead, FL.

Stan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Buckley American Legion Post Byron A. Hickerson Post 432. Stan worked for Weber Fertilizer for many years before owning and operating his own business, S & J Landscaping, Loda.
